College & Career Coaching
Hi, I'm Leigh Kline.
I’m a college coach who helps students make confident, informed decisions about their future. With nearly 15 years of experience in higher education and career coaching certifications, I guide students through the entire process of applying to college — from self-discovery to building a thoughtful college list to completing strong applications.
My coaching is grounded in the belief that the college application process works best when students understand themselves first: their interests, values, learning preferences, and natural talents. From there, we build a college list that makes sense — not just because a school is popular or prestigious, but because it genuinely fits who the student is becoming.
My Background
I earned a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Teacher Education from Bates College, followed by an M.A. and M.Ed. in Counseling from Columbia University. My graduate training in counseling continues to shape my approach today — combining emotional awareness and a deep understanding of the student experience.
In addition to my work in higher education, I’m also a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) and a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, which allows me to help students identify their natural talents and apply them confidently throughout the college application process.
For more than a decade, I’ve supported students in moments of transition — choosing majors, exploring career options, applying for jobs, and navigating the uncertainty.
What Makes My Coaching Different
Families often tell me I bring a sense of calm and clarity to a process that can feel overwhelming. I’m warm, structured, and highly student-centered. My goal is to make each step feel manageable, supportive, and grounded in who the student is — not who they think they’re supposed to be.
I help students articulate their strengths, uncover what they truly want, and express who they are with confidence. And I support parents in understanding the process.
Applying to college can feel stressful, but it doesn’t have to. With the right support, students can approach this process with clarity and build essential life-skills for navigating their careers with confidence.
I'd love to be part of your student's journey.
